Is Destri Lodge located on a private nature reserve?

Yes, Destri Lodge is located within the private Kamonande Nature Reserve in the Waterberg region of South Africa. The reserve is exclusively accessible to owners and their guests, ensuring peace, privacy, and a lack of mass tourism.

Within the reserve, you can observe numerous species of African animals, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, kudus, nyalas, impalas, waterbucks, reedbucks, bushbucks, elands, and warthogs. Among the reserve’s inhabitants, you can also spot bushpigs, baboons, vervet monkeys, porcupines, and, with a bit of luck, leopards.

The Waterberg region is renowned for its exceptionally rich fauna, numerous bird species, and pristine, almost untouched nature. 

Yes, guests can travel around the reserve in specially prepared safari vehicles. These vehicles are driven exclusively by experienced drivers/guide.

You can also enjoy walks in the immediate vicinity of the lodge. However, due to the nature of the reserve, further travel within the reserve is by safari vehicle only.

Destri Villa and Destri Hacienda offer comfortable spaces equipped with private bathrooms, swimming pools, jacuzzis, panoramic terraces, relaxation areas, and internet access. Select properties also feature recreation areas and safari vehicles.
