Kamonande is located within the UNESCO-listed Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. This area is exceptional in terms of biodiversity, known for its rich fauna, picturesque hills, natural water bodies, and landscapes that have remained virtually unchanged for centuries. The Waterberg region is also considered malaria-free, making it one of the most comfortable and safest safari destinations in South Africa.

Wildlife

Natural inhabitants of the Kamonande reserve

The Kamonande Game Reserve is home to numerous African animal species, which can be observed during daily visits and drives through the area. The vast expanses of the Waterberg region provide a natural habitat for giraffes, zebras, antelopes, primates, and many other inhabitants of the African savannah.

Giraffes

The tallest animals in Africa, often found in the open areas of the reserve.

Zebras

The distinctive herds of zebras are one of the most recognizable sights of the region.

Wildebeest

Wild antelopes living in larger groups and roaming vast areas of the savannah.

Kudu

One of the most majestic African antelopes, known for their impressive horns.
